In order to effectively use handicaps in this version of Keeping Score, you must manually adjust the sphere score when you paste the results into your blog if you took a handicap of more than 10 accomplishment points. (OKCupid doesn't handle numbers past 127.)

In order to do that, open the edit function after you paste the results into your journal and find the sphere score number that is over 100. Change the hundreds digit in that score to reflect the actual handicap.

To see possible circumstances that led to a score adjustment, go Google HERE. Use your browser's back button to return to these results.

Hmmm. Looks like I need to work on my mind and soul...

So far I'm not having much trouble filling out the test. I get confused sometimes and still don't know my way completely around, so I'll take points in an area, then realized later it really belonged in another area. For instance, where would I take points for getting the oil changed in my car, and waiting while they do it? Little things like that pop up. I'll see if I can remember more as they come up.

This is high even though I didn't do much around the house today. Most of the day was spent preparing for a birthday dinner for my step-dad at my brother's house, then being there. I guess I got points for a lot of little things again, as I didn't do any laundry, or cleaning, or much of anything besides make a pasta salad, a quick trip to the store, meet with my kids' Religious Education teacher about how they're handling the current crisis, take a nap, then go to my brother's house for a birthday party for my stepdad. I guess I do more than I realize every day.

So...here's a query for everybody. (If other people are still reading this community.) How do you deal with the competitive aspect of "keeping score"? I find myself always looking for ways to "earn points" and judging whether I've had a "good day" or "bad day" based on how many points I have, and wondering how I compare to other people. How do you keep the points, color system, and general feel of the tally non-judgmental?

Hey folks.

If you are still using the tally you will notice that I've been in there messing around again. I'm systematically correcting typos, misspellings and errors and am rewording some of the explanatory text. Here's some "stuff" I noticed:

--I don't know why the explanatory text is no longer showing up in blue. The correct color tags are all in place. I'm wondering if I used an "unapproved" color identification code.

--I have changed the order of the work-position slots in the practical section but I haven't gotten to the important page yet.

--I'm still not having problems with getting my results but if you are, there is some conversation about it going on in the following post:
http://community.livejournal.com/keeping_score_2/12804.html

--You could see an slight jump in your scores. There were a few queries in which I failed to credit the proper number of accomplishment points. It should be very minor -- I only found a couple mistakes.

I'm off. Hope life is going well for all of you.

Ok, I think I must have cheated. ;o) I do feel like I did a lot today, as I did yoga this morning, took Ian with me, where he also did yoga, so that counted not only as stretching and meditation (it was a private session), but also in the realm "I encouraged my child to exercise." I changed sheets on the beds, ate healthy, fed the family healthy, made a real meal and had dinner together, read my book, did nothing for a half hour while the kids played on the playground, made cookies with Emily, helped Emily learn to change her sheets(at her request), assisted the kids as, for the first time for each, Emily took a shower and Ian cleaned himself up in the bath, played around on LJ which counted for time with a hobby, did two loads of laundry (washed, dried, folded, and put away), took a nap, followed Flylady routines a little (cleared off some hot-spots), had a one-hour conversation with one of my mom's friends, who is also my friend now that I'm grown, about my mom, and the list must go on. I guess maybe I did earn this score. Geez. ::edit:: Duh. I also went to work--my primary career--for 3 hours, and spent another 1/2 hour folding sheets for work (aside from the 2 loads of laundry mentioned before), so there's more points...

This doesn't really feel right to me, as I spent 2 hours in the car commuting, most of the morning/part of the afternoon with my mom, came home and took care of the kids for an hour, then left to a school function (end of year picnic) that lasted until the kids bedtime. So I really didn't have time to do anything else in between. But then, I didn't do other things either, such as watch my diet (too many sweets at the picnic), exercise, have dinner with my family, (we ate separately at the picnic), or other mind/spirit things or physical things. I guess this is proving that my life is being run by my family needs, and that I need to create (somewhere) some time for myself, such as exercising, meditating, doing nothing, etc. Very eye-opening. :edit: maybe I can consider the 2 hour commute as part of my work function. (ie Take points in "secondary work function") What do you think?

I didn't visit my mom today; I'm trying to decide if the days I do will be considered a secondary job for now, or if I should take a handicap on those days. Wren, what do you think? Otherwise, I think this is a good start to my baseline score.
